Reboot dialog

Reboot options

Use this tab if you need to reboot the computer on which Play The Web is running. Using this function, you can reboot the computer every day at a given time.

To enable this feature, you should select the "Reboot every 24 hours: at a given time" option in the "Reboot scheme" list box and type a reboot time in the entry fields supplied below.

You can also reboot the computer when nobody uses it anymore. Then, you should select the "Reboot after idle time" option in the list box:

When this reboot scheme is selected, you have to enter the idle time in seconds before a reboot will occur.

Also, you can define a delay (in hours) between two reboots in the next entry field.

If the reboot of the computer is handled by a separate application, you can select the "Automatic close every 24 hours: at a given time" option and type a close time in the entry fields supplied below.

Finally, you can select a range for the reboot time between a start time and an end time. This option is useful if you manage hundreds or thousands of computers in your organization and you do not want all computers reboot at the same time and therefore contact some servers at the same time. To enable this feature, select the "Reboot every 24 hours, at a random time in a time interval".

Then, you need to type a begin and an end time in the entry fields supplied below.

If you check the "Force reboot (close all applications and documents even if not saved" check box, the system will reboot even if unsaved documents are open in other applications.

Auto login options

On a Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2000 or Windows NT computer, you have access to an additional feature allowing automatic opening of a session using Windows login information: User name, password and domain. To provide these information, you need to check the "Windows Vista/XP/2000/NT Auto login" check box.

Then, provide appropriate credentials in "User name", "Password" and "Domain" fields.

When auto login is enabled, Play The Web needs to write some information to the Windows registry. So, the current user should have write access to the [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon] registry key.
